Sanskrit Diwas’ was celebrated on 23rd Aug’ 2007 in the premises of D.A.V. Public School, Sector-37, Faridabad. This event was presided over by the honorable Principal of the school, Mrs. Neelam Gandhi an her team of supervisors viz. Mrs. Mina Das Thakur , Mrs. Sumita Dey and Mr. Sadhna Bhatt. Under he able guidance of Mr. Amar Singh Shastri, a lively and informative program was presented.
At the very onset, ‘Saraswati Vandana’ was performed by the students of Class VI and VII followed by the recitation of ‘Shlokas’ in Sanskrit emphasizing the importance of the teaching of Vedas, epics and Upanishads. The students showed their fluency in the language by a small dialogue in Sanskrit.
The main purpose of celebrating this day was to awaken the students about the utility of the language and achieve excellence in its usage.
The Principal of the school concluded the program by telling that Sanskrit is the oldest language, is easy to understand, scientific and the mother of all languages. She encouraged the students to improve their percentage by studying this language with dedications and hard work.
